Mr. Md. Delwar Husain

Mr.
Mohammad Delwar Husain, a former Member (Income Tax Policy &
Administration), National Board of Revenue, Government of Bangladesh has joined
the Southeast Bank PLC. as an Independent Director. He is also a member of the
Audit Committee as well as the Risk Management Committee of the Board of
Directors of Southeast Bank PLC. He was born on April 20, 1946. He did B.A.
(Hons.) and M.A. in Economics from the University of Dhaka in 1967 and 1968
respectively.
Mr. Husain started his career as a Lecturer in
Economics in the Government Jagannath College, Dhaka prior to joining the
erstwhile Central Superior Service of Pakistan in the Pakistan Taxation Service
(PTS) Cadre in 1970. He served the Government of Bangladesh in different
capacities in the Ministry of Water Resources and in National Board of Revenue.
He retired from Government service as Member (Income Tax Policy &
Administration) in the National Board of Revenue in 2003. Besides Government
service, he also served as a Government Nominated Director of IFIC Bank Limited,
NB Bank Limited, Nepal and Oman International Exchange, Muscat for about two
years. He also worked as an Advisor of IFIC Bank Limited for about one year and
a half. Mr. Husain's experience also includes short term consultancy work with
the World Bank and DFID and in Revenue Reform in NBR as its Project Team Leader
and also as a Facilitator in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in NBR.
Dr. Zaidi Sattar

Dr. Zaidi Sattar, Chairman, PRI,
and a former senior economist of the World Bank, is a broad-based development
economist with specialization in trade, macroeconomics, and development.
Dr. Sattar was educated at the
Boston University and has conducted policy research in the areas of macroeconomic
management, growth, and trade policy. Dr. Sattar was a core team member
drafting the Sixth Five Year Plan (2011-15) and the Perspective Plan (2010-2021)
of Bangladesh. He is recognized as a leading expert on trade and industrial
policy issues in Bangladesh.
He served as World Bank Advisor
on tariffs and customs reform at the National Board of Revenue (1992-95), and later
as UNDP Macroeconomist at the Planning Commission (1995-96). He joined the
World Bank in 1996 as Senior Economist, South Asia Region, where he served as
macro and trade economist until September 2007. He co-authored two seminal
World Bank publications, Trade Policies in South Asia: An Overview (2004) and
Studies in India- Bangladesh Trade (2006). He was the lead author of another
World Bank publication, “Bangladesh 2020: A Long-Run Perspective Study”. Prior
to his World Bank appointment, he was the member of the faculty of The Catholic
University of America, Washington DC (1984 – 1992). He was also a member of the
Civil Service of Pakistan and Bangladesh (1969 – 1983), having served in
different ministries and districts in Pakistan and Bangladesh. He was the
Vice-Chancellor of the Millennium University, Dhaka(2007 – 2008).
He has numerous publications in international and national journals and has presented papers on trade policy,
private sector development, and growth issues at national and international
conferences. Other than Southeast Bank Capital Services Limited, he is also on
the Board of Directors of several financial institutions: Southeast Bank Ltd.,
Southeast Bank Foundation, and Asia Insurance Limited. He is a life member of
Bangladesh Economic Association, Bangladesh Economists’ Forum and American
Alumni Association. He is also an Advisor to The Financial Express.
Mr. Rasedul Islam, FCA, FCMA

Mr. Rasedul Islam
is a Fellow Chartered Accountant working at Southeast Bank PLC. since 2014
under various capacities in senior management position. Mr. Islam, formerly
from KPMG Rahman Rahman Huq, Bangladesh, has vast experience in financial
reporting and analysis, management reporting, budgetary control, corporate
finance, auditing, taxation and legal matter. Mr. Islam is currently serving as
Chief Financial Officer of the Bank since 2018. Besides, he devotes some of his
time as member of Management Committee, Executive Risk Management Committee,
Asset Liability Committee, Integrity Committee, IT Steering Committee of the
Bank.
Mr. Islam is also
a Fellow member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of
Bangladesh. He obtained BBA and MBA from University of Dhaka having major in
Accounting and Information Systems with an excellent academic record. He
positioned in Dean's Honors List and Dean's Merit List for outstanding result
in BBA and MBA from University of Dhaka. He obtained A.F. Mujibur Rahman Foundation
Scholarship, Dhaka University Scholarship, Dhaka Board Scholarship as the
recognition of his excellence.
During his
career, he attended a good number of trainings, seminar and workshop on
different aspects of financial services. He received numerous professional
trainings, short and long courses both at home and abroad organized by
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), Institute of Cost and
Management Accountants of Bangladesh, KPMG Rahman Rahman Huq, Bangladesh.
He is an avid
reader and has a strong impulse to travel and explore the world. A sports
enthusiast, he enjoys socializing. As an active member of a number of clubs/
associations including Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA), Accounting
Alumni University of Dhaka, RRH Associates, his contributions are noteworthy.
Ms. Sabina Sultana

Ms. Sabina Sultana is a highly accomplished professional with a strong academic background and extensive experience in the fields of economics, finance and project management. Ms. Sultana obtained her MBA in Finance from the State University of Bangladesh, an MSS in Economics and a BSS in Economics from the University of Dhaka. She has sharpened her skills and expertise over the years, holding key roles at the Embassy of Denmark as a Programme Consultant and at the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs as a Senior Programme Officer. she specialized in the Multi-Sectoral Programme on Violence Against Women, making significant contributions to advancing women's rights and combating violence against women in Bangladesh. Her contributions in project proposal development, budgeting, and policy drafting have been instrumental in advancing women's rights and combating violence against women in Bangladesh. She currently serves as an Executive Officer at Southeast Bank Foundation, Southeast Bank PLC. since 2023.Committed to continuous learning and development, she has actively participated in various training programs focusing on areas such as project management, financial management, communication, and social mobilization. She combines her expertise with a deep-rooted passion for creating positive societal change. Ms. Sabina Sultana epitomizes dedication, proficiency, and a strong commitment to making a difference in her community and beyond.
Mr. Md Abu Bakar, FCA

Air Commodore (Rtd.) Md. Abu Bakar, FCA was born on May 11, 1961 at Chuadanga. He did his masters in Management from the University of Dhaka and MBA from North South University. He is a Chartered Accountant and also a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. He has wide experience and profound knowledge in auditing, accounting, and capital market. Air Commodore (Rtd.) Md. Abu Bakar, FCA assumed the position of Managing Director of Southeast Bank Capital Services Limited on 11 May 2017. Before joining this organization, Mr. Bakar served in Bangladesh Air force as Director of Finance. He started his career as a commissioned officer in Bangladesh Air Force in 1989. During his service career, Mr. Bakar occupied a good number of prestigious appointments in different offices of Bangladesh Air Force. He served in Senakalyan Sangstha as Director of Marketing and Finance for about 5 years. He also served in the United peacekeeping mission in DR Congo. For his outstanding performance in Bangladesh Air Force, he had been awarded Biman Uthkorsho Padok by the Government of Bangladesh.
